Be True to Your Teeth or They Will Be False to You

Just like taking care of other body parts you need to take care of your teeth also. You need to give your teeth the care and preventive maintenance they require or they will be false to you. Ask yourself a question. Do you want to have false teeth? Do you want to take teeth out unnecessarily? Do you want to walk around with a hunk of plastic in your mouth that doesn't allow you to taste your food? If you answered No to all these, then you better start coming in to your dentist and get the necessary cleanings , whitening, veneers, and crowns you deserve to maintain that dentition. If you say nothing hurts, that is good; but we want to keep it that way so you do not end up with dentures or partials. The way dentistry is today with all the advances , you can keep your teeth your whole lifetime. No question. Don't put off the flossing and brushing with the electric tooth brush either. Your teeth deserve it, and so do you.

Teeth Protection and Athletic Mouth Guards.

As an Orlando Dentist I get many calls if our office makes athletic mouth Guards. Yes, Yes , we do and it is important that if your children are involved with sports they should wear a professionally made mouth guard. The mouth Guard that is professionally made will cushion the anterior teeth better and redistribute the forces from a direct frontal blow. Picture your son or daughter falling off a bike or getting hit in a basketball game. It will send chills down your spine. A mouth Guard can and will help. It is estimated by the National Youth Sports foundation that more that 5 million teeth will be knocked out in sports activities this year. Last year it was found that wearing a mouth guard in football prevented over 200,000 orofacial injuries annually.
Professionally made mouth guards by the Dentist are the ones you want to invest in for your children. The adaptation of the material to the teeth will be better and will not pull away from the teeth. Secondly, even after long periods of wear there will be negligible deformation of the guard. These professionally made ones can be thickened as needed. Custom made so to speak. We can have the ability with these that you dont have with the store bought ones ; and that is to insert a hard polycarbonate layer between soft ethyl vinyl acetate. This is were your special protection comes in. It also gives the athlete a aggressive edge knowing they have this protection. You can wear these longer and will not hinder growth of the adult teeth. You will know when a new one is needed for your child, because it just wont fit as well. This is the way to go when you have active children. The inside of the mouth guard is in the same family of the trays we make for teeth whitening. Call and get your kids in today for impressions for there mouth guards.
