Obama Care and dentistry

I had to write this blog today because it is a big week for all of us. Our President is going to push a vote on his health care bill this week. I agree that we should come up with a better health care system , but this bill is not the answer. It is going to bankrupt this country. We do not have the money to pay for this bill and our President is using all the parliamentary gimmicks to try to get this passed. We need to take a step back and do this the right way including everyone in the process. We do not want to do this behind closed doors. We have enough entitlement programs we can not pay for and that we have to borrow for now. The government needs to step out of the way. You do not want the government to tell you what test you can have and what treatment you can have. Please review this bill and call and email your congressmen this week to let them know your thoughts.
I am so thankful that dentistry is not involved in this bill at the present time. People can still come to me and other dentists and get the quality of care they need. We will do your treatment the correct way. Insurance companies in dentistry really are dictated by the employer who buys the plan. They dictate the care they will cover. This is still a good system but there will be improvements down the road. We dentists are thankful at this time to not be involved in this. I know a lot of physicians that will retire if this passes. Please make up your own mind and call your congressmen this week.
